NOTE FROM LES

Dear Friends,

First of all, another thank you for your prayers, letters, and financial help. We know that some of you are going through tough times and daily I share with someone Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord and He will bring it to pass. Although God promises us a glorious eternity, He never promised an easy earthly life but He does promise to be with us no matter what.

We are thrilled to get daily letters and phone calls that include statement similar to ''I've learned more in the last six months than I have in 20 years of Sunday school and church''. Although it is sad, I think the underlying reason can be summed up with the following example: A dear brother called just the other day, heart-broken. He had been the adult Sunday school class teacher in church for many years and had faithfully used the quarterly. When our teaching exercised his own spiritual life, he decided that he would like to use our little booklets instead of the quarterly so he took one of our tapes and the corresponding little book to his pastor and asked him if he would check it out and let him know if he could use it. Several days later he checked with his pastor and asked what he thought. He said ''oh, it is good and I can't disagree with any of it but you can't use it.'' Why not? The pastor said it was ''too deep''. And we wonder why most church people are so ignorant of God's Word.

I guess for almost everyone that it has been three months of winter and here in Oklahoma we are hopeful that it is behind us now. Fortunately, we had decided not to schedule anything, even here in Oklahoma so we have stayed home-- no flu, no colds, just busy. As many of you may not know, our ministry office is right here on the ranch, which is 12 miles out in the country. In this part of Oklahoma, our counties are not equipped to deal with a lot of ice and snow so our office girls cannot get to work when the roads are treacherous. So with four phone lines and only Iris and I to answer, a lot of calls went to the answering machine the eight days the office was closed due to the weather. We apologize for that, but the sun has come back out and things are back to normal now.

Many of you have asked about our red-head, Sharon Martin. I just talked to her yesterday and she is doing very well but is not permitted to drive, so naturally gets frustrated about that. Keep praying for her. Also, keep Melissa's husband, Andy, in your prayers.

I also need to make a couple of comments regarding the Ministry's finances as some have misunderstood what I mean when I say that I will never appeal for funds. In saying that, it does not mean that we do not need funding, as all TV and radio time costs money. However, we give continuous thanks to the greatest fundraiser of all as He continues to meet our needs by touching hearts without me taking a lot of time to ask for money. Many of you have asked if we dropped the Angel Network because of lack of funding and fortunately the answer is no but it did work out well for us financially as we were able to expand a couple of other markets with that funding. Now for a couple other explanations as the reruns are creating a tremendous response but also raising a few questions as the shows airing now were taped in the early 1990s. Many are getting these teachings for the first time and consequently are unaware of the changes that have happened over the course of the last 20 years. One of the changes is that our office help are no longer volunteers but rather we have 10 paid employees. However, we are still able to say that 100% of your contributions still go strictly to purchasing TV and radio time. All office expenses including wages, postage, phone, office supplies etc. come out of the profit generated from the sale of materials. Any and all surplus profit also goes into the purchase of airtime.

A couple other changes regarding my teaching. For one thing, I no longer hold to a Friday crucifixion. The three days and three nights of Matthew 12:40 and the High Day Sabbath [a special Sabbath apart from the weekly Sabbath] of John 19: 31 made me reconsider, and now I teach a Thursday High Day Sabbath and a Wednesday crucifixion. That backs up the full three days and three nights in the tomb. Another teaching change is that I no longer think the body of Christ will accompany Christ at his second coming. Matthew 25:31 makes it clear that only Angels will attend his second coming [see Revelation 19:14]. Those are the changes I can think of regarding my teaching but we certainly were ignorant in a lot of ways back in those early years! Why didn't we show the Scripture on the screen? Why didn't we put the numbers on the board? However, we did improve little by little over the years. Until our next issue in July, God bless you all.

What in the World?

Many of you have been asking about Egypt. Everything in current events- [everything from the unrest in the Middle East to the moving of the New York Stock Exchange to Germany to the politically upsetting things going on here in America ] -is simply setting the stage for the Antichrist. As I stated years ago, most of the governments of the world will be Socialist by the time the Antichrist appears. Socialism is the only form of government that can control the masses. How? The free lunch! [entitlements], and that will be his big appeal to the masses. So I believe we will continue to see dictators fall and democracy-socialism increase.

Question and Answer

Many people have called or written to question the division of the 430 years of Exodus 12: 41. I teach that 215 of those 430 years were spent in Canaan and the other 215 years were spent in Egypt. The 215 years in Egypt began when Jacob moved down into Egypt with all his family until the night of the first Passover. Now let's stop and think. When God promised Abraham all of the promised land in Genesis 13, and was told to look in all four directions, he was not in Egypt-- he was on the mountains of what is now Israel! And when Jacob fled to his uncle Laban's, he was not in Egypt, he was in Canaan. And when Jacob returned home, he returned to Bethel and then went on to Beersheba, which were both still in Canaan. [Genesis 37:1] Think of all the things that happened those first 215 years... where was Jacob's family when the brothers sold Joseph? Were they in Egypt? No, they were still in Canaan. Where did God instruct Isaac to remain [in Genesis 26: 2 & 3]? In Canaan. So where was Jacob when God finally instructed him to go down into Egypt become a nation of people [Genesis 46:3 & 4]? Beersheba, Canaan. Then, exactly at the midpoint of the 430 years, Joseph brings Jacob and the family into Goshen, in Egypt. Joseph dies 144 years before the exodus. So, Israel was in actual bondage some years less than that. Abram, Sarai, and Lot leave Haran to go down into Canaan in the year 1921 B.C. Jacob moves down to Egypt 215 years later, which would be 1706 B.C. The first Passover, which marked the beginning of the exodus, took place in 1491 B.C. Then, to show how God keeps track of time, exactly 40 years later we have the Passover at Jericho. [Joshua 5:10]. From the Passover in Egypt on May 5, 1491 B.C., until the Passover in Canaan at Jericho on May 4, 1451 B.C. was 40 years to the day!

So to recap: Abram, Sarai, and Lot from Haran to Canaan in 1921 B.C. Then Jacob and his family moved from Beersheba to Goshen in 1706 B.C. The first Passover night in Egypt was on May 5, 1491 B.C. and the first Passover in the Promised Land was on May 4, 1451 B.C. [much of this information came from ''The Annals of the World'' by Bishop Ussher.]

Note from Laura

As I am always talking about the rapture and looking forward to it and the heaven that awaits us, I often mention [when talking with others on the phone] that the one crown I know I am going to get is the crown of righteousness and I am surprised at how many people are unaware of the five crowns. So I thought I would take this opportunity and share with you the five scriptural crowns.

The Incorruptible Crown: I Corinthians 9: 24-25 This crown is given to believers who faithfully run the race. These verses seem to imply that the crown is given to those who do without themselves in some way to point fellow man to God.

The Crown of Rejoicing: I Thessalonians 2:19, 20 & Daniel 12: 3. This is also called the soul-winner's crown because it will be given to those who are faithful in witnessing and leading others to salvation.

The Crown of Life: James 1:12 & Revelation 2:8-11 Also referred to as the martyrs crown, it's given to people who suffer severely or even lose their life because of their faith.

The Crown of Righteousness: II Timothy 4:8. This crown is given to those who look forward to His appearing. I would think that all of us made righteous because of the shed blood of the perfect sacrifice would be and should be candidates for this crown. If we are made righteous because of Him, we should be looking for his appearing with all yearning and earnestness. Knowing that our Savior's appearing could be at any time, we should endeavor to live as righteously [Christ-like] as we can with the help of the Holy Spirit. All three of these should go hand in hand. [Being made righteous, endeavoring to live righteously, and to look for his appearing].

The Crown of Glory: I Peter 5:1-4. This crown seems to be reserved for pastors, schoolteachers, missionaries and others who actively teach God's Word to others, helping them grow in their spiritual lives after they are saved.

These are the five crowns available and of course there are also the rewards. We are not really told what the rewards are but we are told that the crowns will be willingly placed again at the feet of Jesus. [We find in Revelation 4:10-11 that the 24 elders cast their crowns at the feet of Jesus and praised Him.]

Office Note

Once again we would like to say how we appreciate being able to talk to so many brothers and sisters in Christ on a daily basis. Thank you all for your understanding in the backlog due to the weather and our inability to get to work for several days. We cannot imagine how our friends to the north live through that and worse every year!

Iris asked us to please remind everyone to use the memo line of your check to let us know if it is intended to be a donation, payment, or order. This is a great time saver in processing the mail. Because they damage the blades in our letter opening machine, Ruby would very much appreciate everyone leaving out staples and paper clips from your mailings.

Also, for letters with questions to Les, it is crucial that you include your name and address on the letter as well as the envelope. Les receives many pieces of mail on a daily basis, and it is not uncommon for a letter and envelope to become separated. Last but not least, thank you all for continuing to support Les Feldick Ministries through prayer and donations through these tough economic times. The Gospel is needed now more than ever!

Melissa's Note

These last few months have been so crazy for us but we want you to know how much we appreciate every one of you. Thank you all so much for your love, gifts, prayers and thoughts we have received.

Andy is feeling better and is a third of the way through his second round of chemo to treat his brain cancer.
