Faith Plus Nothing

Dear Friends, (Submitted by Iris)

First off, we would like to say Happy New Year! They keep on rolling faster every year. We trust you had a Merry Christmas! We are certainly thankful for all the letters, cards, gifts, good wishes, support and prayers. But let us all remember to make Christ the focus of Christmas. Our family keeps things simple. We do love Easter, which depicts the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the key to our redemption. I Corinthians 15: 1 – 4

We get letters asking about some of our past helpers so I’ll try to answer. Sharon Martin, “the red-head”, who did closed captioning for our programs, has battled cancer twice and is currently in remission with minimal pain. Her husband Andy is her care giver, as she is currently confined to a wheel chair making her unable to play piano in her church. Please continue to pray for Andy & Sharon, as they rely completely on our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lorna Pool, who we are sad to say, passed in Oct after a long illness, along with her husband, Jerry, was responsible for transcribing the majority of the little books. We could have never gotten it done without them. Jerry rarely missed a taping and Lorna came as often as she could. We miss her but hope to see her soon in Glory!

Nancy Carter-Lang, the lovely blonde usually seated in the front row, hosted many of the early Tulsa Bible study classes, which were instrumental in laying the foundation of the TV programs. Although there hasn’t been enough local interest to continue the classes, we were greatly blessed by her years of devotion.

Many of our attendees have gone on to be with the Lord and we miss them all, but it draws us closer to the Rapture! Praise the Lord!

As for Les and me, he is about the same, which he thinks he is doing pretty well for 91 ½ years old. My blood sugar fluctuates a lot but I know our Lord is in control. We have been very blessed in our long and happy life together. Now what we look forward to the most is the Rapture!

What in the World - The Covenants

There is a vast amount of misunderstanding when it comes to the covenants. First of all, the Body of Christ is not under any covenant. We are latent under the Abrahamic Covenant, although Paul never uses that term. When he speaks of covenants in Romans 11:27 and Galatians 3:15 & 17 it is to Israel and the New Covenant. Jeremiah 31:31 makes it abundantly clear that the New Covenant, like the Abrahamic Covenant, the Land Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant, and the Davidic Covenant, were all between God and Israel. The New Covenant is waiting in the wings for the 1000 year reign of Christ, and then it becomes active. Read Jeremiah 31:32-34, all that was needed to fulfill the New Covenant, was also all that was needed for our salvation. That is why I Corinthians 15:1-4 is so clearly given to us. 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Remember, Paul’s Gospel supersedes John 3:16, where there is not a word about the cross. Most of Christendom is missing it!

Revelation of a Mystery – Submitted by Linda from North Carolina

In Scripture, a secret or mystery in the mind of God that was revealed when it was God’s time to reveal it, Deuteronomy 29:29. The Law was kept secret until given to Moses. The secret’s of the Gospel of Grace were hidden in the mind of God throughout human history and revealed only when he called the Apostle Paul to be the apostle of the Gentiles. The mysteries are different concepts but they are all part of that revelation of the body of truth called the dispensation of the Grace of God. God gives us various facets of wisdom and knowledge so we can begin to comprehend these mysteries. The Apostolic Letters of Romans through Hebrews use the words mystery and secret interchangeably. Paul’s ministry was to bring them into full view and understanding.

- Romans 3:22 – Jews and Gentiles would come into the Body of Christ on an equal basis.

- Romans 11:7, 8 & 25; Acts 13:6-11 – Israel will spiritually blinded for a period of time.

- Romans 16:25 – God would take the Gospel of the Grace to the Gentiles.

- I Corinthians 2:7 & 8 – Jesus was The Christ.

- I Corinthians 4: 1 & 2 – Believers were to share the mysteries with others.

- I Corinthians 13:2 – Love

- I Corinthians 15:51 & 52; I Thessalonians 4:13 – 17 – Rapture of believers

- Ephesians 1: 9 & 10 – Believers in the Gospel of Grace will go into eternity with God.

- Ephesians 3:1 & 2 – The Gospel of the Grace of God is based on faith alone.

- Ephesians 3:6 – 9; Colossians 1:27 – Believers in the Gospel of Grace would become one with and joint-heirs with Christ in eternity.

- Ephesians 6:19 – Gentiles and Jews can be saved by believing on the finished work of the Cross.

- Colossians 1:25-27 – The Spirit of Christ will indwell Gentiles.

- Colossians 2:2 & 3 – The revelation that God is a Triune God.

- I Timothy 3:8 & 9 – Faith

- I Timothy 3:14 – 16 – Jesus Christ was God in the flesh.

As we wait in expectation of the Rapture and observe events that we know point to the trumpet, let us not overlook the important instruction of our Apostle Paul when it comes to how we, the Body of Christ, are to represent Him as ambassadors. Below are a few versus that are good to not only be mindful of, but live by, when it comes to our daily walk ...

Galatians 5:22-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

I Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

I Thessalonians 4:8-11 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.

II Corinthians 12:20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

I Timothy 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Walk in LOVE in word and deed!
